A big few months for Highgate Sales graduates continued over the weekend when Everso Mischievous won the Harrods Creek Stakes by an easy 3 ¼ lengths at Churchill Downs.
Pressuring the leading Bouncer for the first half of the seven-furlong race, he made sure that one kept the pace honest throughout the backstretch run. Issuing a bigger challenge around the far turn, Everso Mischievous took command going into the stretch and impressed from there. Scoring his first career stakes victory for Brad Cox and Qatar Racing, he’s won three of five starts with two second place finishes this year.
Everso Mischievous was sold for $85,000 to Fergus Galvin at last November’s Keeneland November Horses of Racing Age Sales and has earned $359,640 since selling.
This was the second stakes winner in the last month for Highgate after Harlan Estate, another 2022 Keeneland November offering, won the Listed Tapit Stakes at Kentucky Downs. Marine Stakes (G3) third Midnight Rising was also part of that consignment.
